I was fortunate enough to see the Richard Serra drawing retrospective. This past weekend and was blown away. Most people are probably familiar with his sculptures, but his drawings are equally as interesting. Blank, 1978 Paintstick on Belgian linen; 2 parts, each 10 ft. Although her work describes the natural world through landscapes and still lifes, she is not against exploring pure abstraction. Her vigorous brush work encourages response through color and mood, whether representational or abstract. Her voice is the spontaneous application of unblended paint.
